Biogas Plants as a Regional Economic Factor
A biogas plant is an important regional economic factor. There are numerous companies involved in construction and operation. For example raw material suppliers, building companies, subcontractors or service providers. Most of the orders are placed locally.
Substrates are purchased from local sources to eliminate long distance transports. Locally produced organic waste and landscaping material are directly available on-site. At the moment, most of these substrates end up wasted in composting facilities or unsorted in landfills. The collection of organic waste and the recovery of green waste offers an enormous potential that can be used for future power generation.
